I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico but have lived in Florida for many years. My passion for art started once my daughters started school and I experienced the first "empty nest syndrome" I enrolled in an art class just to do something fun and it was love at first sight. It was like starting to see the world with different eyes. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I was surrounded by mountains, the ocean and all that wonderful Nature's color palette. I was fascinated by colors, shapes, and the feeling that when I paint I am transported to another world, a world that I could create.

I studied at the PR League of Art for a year and then took private lessons for a short time with Jose Azaustre. At that time I painted mainly scenes from my beautiful Island. When I moved to Florida I took several workshops with different local artists and it was then when I discovered my love for Still Life painting in the Old Master style (chiaroscuro)

Currently I am studying with Master Dan Edmodson, who has been instrumental in helping me take my art to the next level. I prefer to paint still life subjects in a realistic chiaroscuro style. I still paint scenes from my PR as a way to stay connected to my roots and whenever I feel the nostalgia for my Island. Most recently I have added acrylic paintings with more Caribbean themes and colorful characters.
